It was a first draft logo that was rejected by Serling it looked too 1950's Sci-Fi and he chose the mountains, lights, shadows, etc. instead. It was use later in the original 1959 pilot introduction for the Twilight Zone with an actor which Rod Serling liked from Playhouse 90.
