Zelda A Link to the Past - Trinexx - Speed kill

Trinexx beaten in 25 seconds. Played in real time on Snes9x v1.43 rerecording.

Note that the Golden Sword (Lv.4) is required to beat it this fast, though the tricks still work even if you don't have it.

The first trick to killing Trinexx fast is getting behind it. (Don't worry, its tail won't hurt you.) Using the Ice Rod, you can shoot and stun the fire head from behind, before it would otherwise be vulnerable, then slash it with your sword. After that you can take out the ice head normally.

The second trick is that Trinexx's main head is vulnerable to your sword from the time it starts moving out of its exploding shell to the time its central body section starts flashing. If you stand at just the right angle, you can hit it twice with a spin attack as it's coming out, then slash it once more to kill it.

Last time I remember you were only able to kill trinexx by hitting his colored body scales and not the head.

@Nirvana32058 Its head is only vulnerable from the time it leaves the exploding shell to the time its middle section starts flashing, at which point that's vulnerable instead.

@Desbreko Oh I see what you mean. After 10 years of playing A Link to the Past, I never knew you can do that. I was sure I knew all the tricks. Thanks for insight!

I've played through this game probably 8-10 times since it came out, and the whole time I always brought blue potions to this boss and thought the rods exclusively did damage to the colored heads. I had no idea they are vulnerable to the sword when hit with the proper element...
