44871 & 45407 hauling 'The Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express' 28-01-12

A cool, crisp Saturday morning in January-Perfect weather for the Railway Touring Company's 'Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express' with Ian Riley's Black 5's 44871 and 45407 at the head. With the sun just breaking over Winter Hill, the duo are seen erupting enormous volumes of exhaust up into the atmosphere as they approach a red signal at Buckshaw Parkway. Later in the morning, the pair are seen again, now running nearly 10 mins late up the WCML towards Grayrigg through Oxenholme at a fair rate of knots.

@TheStephengthompson Thanks for your comment Steve. The shot at Oxenholme could have been ruined as the train passed through late and a Birmingham train was due on the up platform. Luckily though that ended up late aswell. Phew...
