Does the Dazzle Hardware have an s-video in available because this could achieve better quality than the A/V cables. and how does the hi8 camera quality compare with digital camera quality from the same specs?

The Dazzle does have s-video available but many Hi8 cams do not. Hi8 will generally look worse than many digital options, especially after it's transferred over composite.

Jake my Hi8 does have a s-video port. How much better is the video quality? Is there a big difference?

i need some help

my dad got a old sony camcorder and i want to get the videos from there to my pc. it recordes on HI8 tapes. the camcorder has no usb and no firewire cables/ sockets.

it only has a lead which you connect to the tv.

would this " Dazzle USB " work on mine?

various Hi8 camcorder models have different specs. Some do have S-video, but many don't. If yours has S-video, use it.

no your wrong mine is "HI8 Sony NightShot handycam" and it doese have "S-Video" and i hear it has X-Ray vision, but i never tryed to see if it does because i barly found out lastnight : )

No, all Hi8 cameras do not have S-video. The camera used in the demo is the newest model available from Sony.
