Honda has always been expanding their horizons. When Soichiro Honda said he wanted to start making cars in addition to motorcycles everyone thought he was crazy. Now look at Honda, it is a major world provider of high quality vehicles.They make generators, specialty motors; aircraft are simply the next step. Every company must evolve to stay competitively advantageous. Besides, if its a good product, then what's the problem?
