My lap steel started out as a Supro double-neck with only the back neck remaining. In the spring of 2007 I added a knee bender to raise the 2nd string (B) up a whole step and a few months later an elbow bender to raise the 3rd string (G#) up a half step. I modified the Supro pickup, adding rare earth magnets and removing the top bar. I missed not having a C6 neck so I made a second neck with tuners for either 7 or 8 strings. Currently I'm using 7 strings on the front, non-bender neck. I'm an instrument builder and player. My website is keithcary.com.
