I am mildly mentally challenged and I have a right to make a comment just like everyone else.
Thank you

Mr. Joe Carl said Scrubs" shares a message about why you should pledge to stop using the word "retard(ed)" and begin helping Special Olympics and Best Buddies International create a world of respect for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Join us on 3.3.10 to make your pledge to end the R-word

Mr Joe Carl liked a video Make your pledge now at You have the power to make change...you have the power to spread the word to end the word.

The context "retard" was used in was not an issue. Are people with down syndrome really going to the movies these days, and if they did....do you really think they're going to understand it anyway? It's a comedy that was just taken out of context and people just want to have their moment in the spotlight with these protests.

i just dont think retards would watch this movie anywayz

jeez last time it was 3 percent now its 1 of 5 (20 percent)? god these activists need to get their stories strait
-
it that this movie is not making fun of mentally retarded people. When jr. is saying never go full retard, he is somewhat putting out a message not to make fun of someone with disabilities. because in the movie, stiller is this dumass actor who can not get his career straight.
this is coming from a kid who has a mentally retarded sister who i love and i hate it when people use the word retard as an insult. i did not find this movie insulting.

c'mon if we keep this up there will not be anymore words to use then they'll all be offinsive
btw what is the c word that pdhc08 spoke of??

i'm sorry, but as a director and a writer i find this movie a wonderful parody of the movie industry. unfortunately you may feel this way although there is no reason that you should. the way that they portray this word within the movie is as a parody of acting styles. it is no lie that in the past many movies have been made which portray people with mental disabilities. the current lingo for that is retard. i'm sorry if merely typing that word offends you as it obviously offended you in themovie
the movie did not call your son a retard it was kids. this is a rated R movie. Furthermore, the movie doesnt go around calling mentally disabled people retarded. I mean, i can see where you are coming from, but it isnt this movie that is calling your son names. it is stupid kids that have no sense of maturity or responsibility that would call him any other name that was available. Kids get called names. thats the way it is. it sucks, but it isnt the fault of an adult comedy.

Just watched the movie. It din't even occur to me that someone could see it as offensive to mentally challenged people. I saw it as a spoof on how people without this disability are poor at relating to it but most mostly on how the academy chooses to hand out awards (to Tom Hanks and Dustin Hoffman but not to Sean Penn). It was funny to me. Peace :)
