Riot was an obscure Latin rock group from the mid seventies. They recorded one album for Motown records. Riot was led by legendary percussionist Carmelo Garcia, a man whose career dated way back with Mongo Santamaria and many Latin jazz pioneers. John De Luna from El Chicano played drums, he left the band after three albums, upon his return many wondered about the "courtesy of Motown records" tag after his name. This project is the reason why. Hector Andrade, timbal player for the amazing group Caldera played congas for Riot.
Gabriel Garcia -lead vocals, Jose Marino -bass, Jai Winding -keyboards, Jerry Rush -trumpet, Tommy Trujillo -guitar, and Melvin Ragin -guitars round up the the group.
Rare Earth was a big selling act for Motown records, as that band began to wind down, it appears that their management and the record company assembled Riot to take their place. Sadly this group went unnoticed.

By the way, Hungria Carmelo Garcia guest starred on timbales for Stevie Wonder's 'Another Star'..as Stevie remebered him from THIS 1974 ditty (Songs In The Key Of Life, 1976)
