he killed the dish when he "pre cooked the kale fo 40 mins.. should have blanched or steamed for no more than 5 mins.didn't look very appitizing

Yep, good catch Beijosparavoce.
Smoking an oil damages it and is bad (like transfat bad).
Peanut oil has a much higher smoke point, which is much better for high temp cooking. :-)
