@daggyz1959, why don´t you go up there and tell us how the digging was, when back down? seriously, this kind of stupidity makes me want to send some serious cookies straight into your dome! please use your brain! the picture was blown away by the wind, and is laying somewhere on that mountain. can you please digg the whole mountain up?

Having seen some photos from 1924 and more recently where snow has piled up against the west side of thepillar at 2nd step it is possible Mallory climbed the snow with his axe (Irvine left his below believing he didn't need it) and then threw a rope down and pulled Andrew up. Odell said he saw one on the ridge above he rock and then a second after that so we know they got up - but did they get to the top?
Dig down on the summit and see if you can locate an old photo, is that possble?

What I need is a website detailing the photos of the bodies with what happened. For example if you go on google and type everest bodies you can see pics of peoples skulls.

Mallory is one of the greatest alpinist of all time....too bad Everest has become the rich mans play ground...theyre not only littering the mtn with the remains of morons but also all the equipment that is left behind....so sad!

Mallory probably made it alone. There's a massive 40ft wall at the end of Step 2 that a single human would not be able to climb up, but would be able to if he stood on the shoulder of another. I think Irvine helped Mallory up, then waited for the great man to return. But once he summited by late afternoon Mallory decided to take a different, safer route back and somehow fell. Poor Irvine waited and finally tried to find his way back to camp, before getting lost in the dark and collapsing.

Are you an idiot the reason he's talking like that . He's at the top of the world with no oxygen . He's literally dying at that altitude, alot of people die on top of mount everest. You only have a few minutes to stay there before you have to come down.
