Actually, Prohibition was passed (1919) before women got the right to vote (1920). Fundamentalist Christians were strongly supportive of Prohibition, not only such groups as the Women's Christian Temperance Union, that also were for suffrage.

People who are pro-Federal law have low IQ's I assume. My brother has a liberal friend who believes everything should be done at the federal level.
He strongly supports gay marriage. I asked him if he thinks this should be at the federal level. He thought so. I pointed out all Republican candidates (besides Ron Paul) want to pass the "Federal Marriage Amendment", banning all marriage that isn't a man and a woman.
It seems everyone wants federal laws until the other party gets control of them
