I've been working on trying to get some of the things Django says on cue. This is what we've worked on so far. In this video, he waves, says his name, says, "I am a Maximillian's Pionus," and says "bye bye."
Not much. I do have a clicker but honestly haven't figured out much fun stuff to do with it. I'm pretty sure Quinn understands that "click" means "good job" and "here's a piece of almond" but he has a tendency to ignore it unless he's in the mood. So I'm not positive. Do you have any suggestions? I welcome ideas!! :) Thanks for responding so fast!
@susaneharley I volunteer with Phoenix Landing and they do have some free videos on MonkeySee that may help! YouTube won't seem to let me paste the URL. Just Google "Phoenix Landing" and "Monkeysee" and they should come up. I started with simple training - waves, turn around, etc. and was able to move to "talking" on cue from there.
What a great video! Django speaks so clearly! Do you have any tricks for getting your Pis to talk? My BH Pi, Quinn, is almost 3, I've had him for 9 months, and he will give a wolf whistle (although not really on cue) but that's all. I'd love to teach him more.
@susaneharley Thanks for the compliments! I'm afraid I don't have any tips on getting them to talk more. Django has always been talkative & was already saying those things, just not on cue. My BH Pi, Gillie, does not talk much at all. She says "hi Gillie" and that's about it. ;) You may be able to get Quinn's wolf whistle on cue! Do you do any training with Quinn already?
