Flames shot high making the night lurid with carnival light. Sparks took the place of stars. The decade old house was a silhouette fronting hell, as everything I knew was consumed in fire.

Two figures broke from the smashed front door and fell in front of my brother, sister and I. Mom and dad. Their night clothes smeared with soot, and their faces white with terror. Daddy ran back in once more inside. Another window exploded.

He ran back out with a long black box and handed it to me. He ran back inside once more to help my uncle get our antiques out. As daddy and Uncle Gabriel were inside the fire roared its victory; then, with a crack, as if a giant's spine had snapped, a central beam gave way, and the roof collapsed in a peacock tail of sparks and flame in its finaly goodbyes.

"Daddy!! Uncle Gabriel!" JoJo and I scream. But it was too late.

I sit up in my bed feeling sweat dripping down my face. "It was just my memory." I sigh. I wanted to cry. The fire in tennessee was 7 years ago. I hear my phone ring. I had two texts from Selena and Miley.

*Selena's text: I'm done fighting with you Demi. Whatever just leave me alone. We are fighting non-stop and I dont need that before championships.*

"Wow" was all i could say.

*Miley's Text: Joe has been doing nothing but talking about how beautiful you are! Will just please go out with my brother and give a girl a break please!!!! Love you!*

I hear my brother banging on my door. "Demi hurry up! I have to go pick Selena up." He yelled. I flop back and sigh. I get up and get dressed in warm clothes as it was a freezing winter day.

I get downstairs meeting up with Nick and JoJo. "You ready?" JoJo asked. We walk to the car and JoJo and I get in the back because Selena sits up front. We get Selena and she comes in all smiles until she sees me. JoJo and I spot Miley and Liam out front when we get to school, so we go up and talk to them. "Hey guys." We say. Smiles came from both of them before Liam gave her a kiss. Jordan and Taylor came over. "Heyyyy!" They said. I smiled. I do have better friends.

Joe comes up from behind me and snakes his arms around my waist. My stomach felt warm and my cheeks were blushing. He's never donet his before. For 10 minutes we were talking, until i saw my brother and Selena coming to us. Selena pushes me over and Joe catches me. "Hey guys whats up?" She asks holding Nicks hand. "Nothing." We all say softly. "I wasnt talking to you Demi!" She said rudely.

I lower my head and Miley and JoJo see I'm upset. "I'll see you guys in lunch." I say softly as I walk away into the warmth of the school hallways. I get to first period and sit in the back corner and silently cry. Halfway through first period, I get called to the main office. I bring the only thing i brought, my purse and leave. I see my mom and step-dad sitting in there as I finalyl get down to the first floor. "Whats wrong?" I ask. "We're going home, someones there to see you." Mom said. I went to my locker and grabbed my coat and left with my parents.

When I got to my house, there was a silver porshe in the driveway. I knew who it was. I got out and ran into the house to see me birth mom. (I was adopted when I was an infant.) "MOM!" I yelled happily as i ran to her and hugged her. " Demsy!" She yelled back in her sweet british accent. I only get to see her every two years.

"How have you been Amber?" My step-dad asked. "I'm good." She said. We hang out for a while until Nick and Sel got home. "Mom, dad, Sel and I are gonna be in my--- AMBER!!" He yelled happily. Sel smiled when she saw me happy. She knew i was always at my happiest when I'm with my mom. "Hello Selena." She said. Sel smiled and hugged her. Sel was happy to see my mom as well. "Hi Amber." She said. I was happy until my mom asked, "So what have you girls been up to lately?" I look at Sel and she looks at me. My mom saw our faces. "Girls, what is going on?" She asked.

I ran out the front door and Selena ran to Nicks room, both of us crying.
