They just don't make enough games like they used to... Lots of items... original combat... challenging puzzles... and easily exploited glitches... Ah the good old days...

is it possible to this with something other than Din's Fire. Like maybe Zelda's letter?

It is possible with any spell. Enemies stand still when you use Zelda's Letter IIRC, so it wouldn't work.

Ahh thanks, we were trying to do the temple without magic but oh well. Looks like we'll need to use plan B.

You can also use a bottle. Catch a bug, release it near the edge, equip the Hover Boots, then run toward the edge and swing the bottle. If you catch the bugs and slide off, you will fall after the cutscene.

TWW doesn't have a lot of glitches, and it's generally just an extremely easy game, even with three hearts... And you can't skip much.
