Or the large male could be a cousin or a complete stranger; but either case, cousin or stranger, it's indeed remarkable... We know male lions (collectively raised as cubs, among different mothers most of whom are related), even complete strangers, when grown, like to form such partnership, in order to improve their life chances. Perhaps cheetahs, too, are learning to do similar coalition building, even among strangers, for similar life chance reasons...

It's a shame we still, as of today, don't have a way to quickly ascertain the real biological relationship of these multiple individual cheetah coalitions, particularly when there are clear distinct features among them. The large one could simply be the oldest brother, who has always had the lion share of the milk & food, making him grow 8-15 pounds larger than his younger brothers.
