In March 2002, I spend quite a few late nights with the 3D aoftware program trueSpace (5) trying to put together a 2 minute short Godzilla film. I only got as far as the first 20 seconds before I got tired of wrestling with the software and lonnnggg render times. Originally, he was supposed to march down a street, turn a corner, face off against some tanks, approach a movie theater showing the '98 US Godzilla film, and blow it up. heh. Yet another unfinished project by yours truly.

  • Congratulations, very nice job. Your dated version was probably the worst part of your troubles. Many goodies were added on TrueSpace 6 and 7. Even the basic particle system that is including on it could be great for your short. 7.5 is coming with hair and high quality render engine, so you could get that version.

  • Thanks, I did just get 7.5 and V-Ray. Actually, the only version I skipped was 7.0, but I never did much with 6.6. Nice thing about 7.5 is that I could probably do this again, render out the DX9 real-time frames, and it would look even better!

  • good job

  • hmmm. . . right way to do Godzilla in this 3D era would be to have a small Japanese woman walk around in a rubber Godzilla suit in a blue-screen room. The building and everything else would be added later. There was just something there about having Godzilla done with guys wearing suits which had its own charm :-)

  • why ar reyou not making more?

  • NOT BAD for 2002! =D

  • 0:02 thumps up if you noticed the burger king sign

  • Nice job that was a good animation

  • Wow! That's awesome!

  • 2 words awesome video

  • @camybratt Well, if you have ever seen the very few times that the real Godzilla has been featured in CGI during a film, specifically in Godzilla 2000. Then you can see how different a bad it looks. Toho has always had a rubber suit for Godzilla and they should keep it that way becuase it makes it look real. Also as for Zilla, pfff. An Iguana crossed with T-rex is all that fish eater is. Missles killed it man. MISSLES. The real Godzilla fuckin cuaght planes and crushed them.

  • why don't you make more
