The photograph shows a cornet but its width is foreshortened by the angle at which he holds it. The giveaway is how far the third-valve crook extends forward, beyond the main crook.

It doesn't get better than this man. It's cornet playing at its best! The ideas are spectacular. EVERY version of this is unique. There is NO ONE that thought like him. Perry Como on the cornet with IDEAS!

Well, folks . . . this must be a VERY youthful photo of B. H. . . . and, "Kingoliver", are you CERTAIN that is a cornet shown in the pic--looks like a standard trumpet to me.
