Silent Night Slack Key (sort of...)

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I'm dedicating this song to Lily. I love you very much. :-)

I was going to learn an arrangement by Kirk Lorange (aka, planetalk), but was playing around trying to learn the melody to Silent Night. Then I was playing around some more with the fills. My very simple arrangement, though, isn't nearly as pretty as Kirk's. One day I do want to learn his arrangement.

For you guitarheads:

Mic'd with a Sennheiser e835s dynamic mic about 6 inches off the fretboard at about the 12th fret. Plugged into an Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0.

Guitar: Ibanez EW20KOENT. Sadly they don't make this guitar any more. I really like it. It's like a mini jumbo. The body is slightly smaller than my Takamine jumbo, but almost as deep.

Tuning: Taropatch, DGDGBD. Aka, Open G

Strings: DR Zebras. Brass and nickel wound strings with round core. I really like these. They're kinda old and should've changed them but I don't have another set...

Software: Krystal Audio Engine.

Computerheads:

I used Youtube Downloader to download the video from ScenicVideos. Very easy to use.

Video Editor: Windows Movie Maker. Can adjust the audio on the video so it plays under my guitar. Gotta remember it only takes 16bit audio...not 24bit.

Ho, not even Auntie! It's a very VERY simple arrangement...to match my beginner skillz and lack of any real knowledge of music theory! Music theory is like advanced mathematics and I only know add and subtract... :-)
