It's also on a carpet floor at least one is my second one is in a cabinet... Well more like shelf... Sorta on a tv stand...

I understand that it's not really only er heated its like just hot at the back and I just got them and it starts to lag like I was in the middle of Rockland and the track played through but near the end it froze for about 2-3 seconds then continued fine.... So I don't know just a bit worried

Slim does not overheat in 1-2 hours unless you absolutely don't clean it like a fatass.

I have the slim.....and mine over heats in like less then an hour.....it sucks...i start to lag on Rockband 1 and 2.....=="

u can also stand it on the sid because win the motherboard begins to heat the heat bounces back 2 the system while it is siting flat on a surface

@clubby30 Fans are a very bad idea for any system. Fans blow cold air into you system while the system's fans blow hot air out. Do you know what that's called in nature? A tornado. You don't want that in your system.

my has 2 fans right next to 60gb ps3 , alptopn fan underneath and small desk fan on when i start the machine and overheats in about five mins
