Hmm, I think I`m going to have to say Great Big Sea. I can`t be sure since the only version I`ve heard is the live one, but the singers in the background sound much more like GBS than The Fables. Either way, it`s a great song.

@boyo37 is absolutely right. This *is* unquestionably Great Big Sea, from their first album (released in 1993).

This isn't Great Big Sea but they may have gotten the song from GBS's first album. Nothing compares to Darrell's live version of the song anyway.
