  • I cant believe you sick mother fuckers yelled yes to let him die. well i cant believe my country is even still in afghanistan fighting for your fucked up society, the sooner you bunch of cunts get levelled the better.

  • These are the leaders of the free world.

    F***** sick people.

  • @daggad02 This half of our country are heartless idiots. If they take over this country at the next election, I may have to learn to speak Norwegian. Could an English speaking person get by in your society?

  • @icreatedthistx essentially, bargaining power from the buy side in healthcare is virtually nil, while health suppliers enjoy disproportionate amount of power. The rising cost of healthcare per person makes no sense considering what advances in technology and economy of scale did to the car industry (as what Ford did) for example.

Who would take side of the consumer in this case - if not the government?

Private insurance requires overhead - it's purpose to generate profit, not to drive down cost.

  • As in health reform, I have yet to see any serious proposal from any republican candidates to bring down the cost. Healthcare cost are rising much faster than salary does. Somebody have to pay for that - be it by the government through tax, or by the people through insurance, or out of pocket.

The nature of healthcare system is much different than other commodity markets. If cars are expensive, we can choose public transport, walking, bicycles... we live without cable, tv, but not healthcare.

  • @icreatedthistx I absolutely agree with you on the wars. We should not have them in the first place. But, getting out is easier said than done. In fact, at this stage, if we are not careful, getting out of a war may be even far more damaging than not getting in, and undo anything we have achieved.

Ending the war, we are still stuck with its enormous bill - and the high interest rate "war bond" that goes with it. If we cut tax further, how can we pay for that?

  • @icreatedthistx this was regarding your post on corporations.

  • @hereiam2005 I would advise you to watch the short clip of Dr. Paul on the Daily Show. He explains it quite nicely.

  • @hereiam2005 continued.... Dr. Paul has a quite impressive way of cutting spending. To me the most valuable ways are ending the war and for corporations to actually pay their taxes (touchy subject but i wont digress). I wouldn't be surprised if between those two alone we can cover the funding necessary for special cases (coma, cancer, life-threatening conditions). For other not-quite-so-serious procedures, we "should" have health care. "Should" being the keyword.
