@breeeegs Claiming he was planning to kill all the jews as a child IS an exaggeration. Like I said, the truth of the holocaust is enough. No twisting of the truth is needed. It was horror and evil, plain and simple.

His evil cannot be exaggerated. He was evil incarnate.
-
@breeeegs No, he was not formulating plans for the jews that early. It was during his time in Vienna when he was a struggling artist circa 1913 or so that he began to develop an antipathy towards the Jews, according to Mein Kampf. Unfortunately there is a lot of misinformation out there. Sensationalizing and exaggerating his evil does no-one any good. The truth is bad enough. Those that seek to dehumanize him pave the way for another tragedy.
-
@breeeegs I look at it as this was work of devil and people who did kill Jewish, Polish or other nationalities with such cruelty like in camps were not humans, they were possessed or something.

I didn't hear it personally, I saw a historian make that claim in a documentary years ago. Like I said, I have no idea whether or not its definitely true, but it doesn't seem that far beyond the realm of possibility based on what we know of Hitler's psychology and the psychology of sociopaths in general. I'm taking a course on 20th century European history which involved extensive research on the Holocaust. My grandfather is a survivor of the Dzyatlava massacre in Belarus

The goal of the film is fairly obvious. It is trying to preserve the memory of the Holocaust through eye witness testimony, not only from victims but perpetrators as well. It gives a human face to the Holocaust that has a much stronger impact than the endless lists of numbers and statistics with which we're so often presented

I am haunted by a claim I once heard in a documentary that Hitler was already formulating the ideas for the destruction of the Jews when he was a young boy, I mean literally a child. I have never gotten that image out of my head. Clearly he had a fanatical hatred of Jews as an adult, and many of his acquaintances said he read anti semitic literature in his teens, but did he envision concentration camps as a boy? Is it possible to be that much of a beast? I'm a grandchild of a survivor btw

Look, from 7:01, the WTC towers...they are gone now...so sad and horrible...
This film is beautifully made.

Every Jew had his passage paid by HH the German railway company. In some cases Jews lured by the promise of relocation for work paid his own passage to death. More than 350,000 Hungarian Jews paid tickets in passenger cars of the second class to be taken to Auschwitz
