Exactly these people don't even realise that the empires they talk of were also Turkic.

Ottomans just one of many empires. The Turks in their history have ruled the Chinese, Indians, Greeks, Persians, Arabs, Rus, Blacks, and various others.
Those Mughals you talk of were also a Turkic empire, which excepted the supremacy of the Ottomans.
The chinese have been ruled and banged by Turks many times.
