  • Thanks for clearing that up, techniques look good. I currently train spm kung fu so its always great to see another style.

  • @cal086 Southern Praying Mantis is good stuff, good internals in the later stages.

  • If the 10 killing hands is not a self defense technique, then what is it's purpose? No disrespect here, just curious.

  • @cal086 You're misunderstanding me; to best illustrate some of the ways to achieve the "10 Killing Hand" RESULTS (that's what I was talking about in the beginning of the video), I used these particular attacks (there're others but I can't show every possible way) - most from an attempted grab, but also some from straight punches. Its hard to film at full speed because then I'd have to counter at full speed and its VERY hard to pull your punches.

  • @cal086 Also, the goal of this clip is to illustrate the results you want to achieve to end the fight (with whatever technique you want to use), If someone was jabbing, it may not be feasible to use any of these techniques, but rather others (like a Chop Chuy) to counter. For a straight punch, you can certainly use the Sup Ji Sau to trap, and then do the "Break the Face" palm to the face. No disrespect taken - good question.

  • The guy in the red shirt looks like he's coming in for a hug more than an actual attack. How about showing us some quick and strong straight punches or jabs and the defense from that. It would be much more interesting.

  • @cal086 Because this video is about the "10 Killing Hands", not a self-defense against jabs/straight punches. I would use different techniques to counter those (such as a Leopard Fist after a parry, or a front snap kick), not necessarily the 10 Killing Hands.

  • Did I not say that there are many ways to achieve these results? It's Hung Ga because I teach Hung Ga. Against a skilled opponent, another skilled person CAN get to these places just as they can get to any other parts. It's all up to the individual.

  • I have to say...most mma fighters and kickboxers, when I've held conversations with them on traditional martial arts (which have been several times) they usually give respect to the other forms. In fact, I've never heard "I'm so fucking tough they couldn't touch me blah blah blah blah blah".

You never hear that bs that you read on youtube comments. That leads me to believe that these "mma" guys are probably just douchebag fans, not fighters.
