To be honest, and I'm not saying they're not greedy (but who wouldn't be in their position?), they could milk the system more than they do. With the power of lobbying they could probably squeeze even more cash out of the government, especially in the US, than they do. In theory if they got more than half of Congress on their side they could pass bills meaning they can charge $50,000 per pill and, as far as I know, nobody could stop them.

When they come on the news every night, I tune them out! I'm soooo sick of seeing Sally Fields talking about her osteoporosis. I wish she'd find a movie to appear in so she wouldn't need the money she gets for doing these advertisements!!!

Patients don't prescribe for themselves. They have to ask doctors. If doctors are weak and ineffective and capitulate, writing scrips for everything requested (or demanded), they should be better doctors. Advertising informs the public of goods available that it may (or may not) need or want. That's all ads do. People who "need" and want all they see are "at risk" for anything.

They racketeer amongst themselves, give each other contracts, they are usually very well educated and are professionals: engineers, financiers, doctors, lawyers.

There is a saying here in Australia: "dumb Jewish people do dentistry"; because it's the norm be in medicine.

Add to this, the propensity not to get suckered into credit (they lend to one another personally, do not use their own banks that they reap outrageous interest off the gentiles). Also they are very modest in their spending.
