Goo Goo Dolls - Iris (my original solo)

Truly inspiring. I'm fourteen, and that last run you played sounded off-key, but in a good way. How exactly did you do that? I can play fast and everything, but I only know the pentatonic... What scale was that?

@superkellerman8D Thanks- I was 15 or 16 when I posted this video, I think. You're right- I did hit a few bad notes (I was kind of a sloppy player back then! :P) As far as what scale it is, it is a simple minor scale.The first 18 notes are in groups of 6. The first six notes are the first six notes of the minor scale (we will refer to them as 123456). For each group, I ascend an octave. After that, I expand the pattern by playing 234567, and then 345678, 456789, 56789 10 11 (3rd of minor scale)

what u need to do is to go to their concert.. sneak up to either the front of the stage or the back of the stage.. either hand johnny or the crew a copy of this... thats how u get ur foot into the door.. u should write a message to him saying that you always wanted to jam with him... he'll probably give u a chance, like how john mayer did to that one kid....

@lishen9 I'd gladly play with them! :) I have the gear to do so! I tried registering a long time ago on Goo Goo Dolls forums to promote this video/solo in hopes that the guys from the band would see it.. I found out that you have to pay money to be a part of the forum, though. O.o
