Actually the girl, Emma, dressed as a 'Bar Girl' - polite euphemism - left the show that year making her around 16 at the time - 1985. She would be the same age as me - 42 - now in 2011... The other kids would be in their 30s too!
All the shows were produced and directed by the late Colin Clews, who had been at ATV then Central since the 1950s, and was a BAFTA award winner for producing Morecame & Wise in the 1960s.
i agree that things were more innocent back then. I was in a Youth Theatre from about 10 - 16 and some of the dancing the girls did then would be considered a bit risquee in today's climate of weirdos!!
ha! no... it's just how i feel about seeing stuff like this. like, there was GAP ad over Christmas with young girls in boots and skirts, dancing acting all cute and... urgh, it was gross. what makes me sick is the people that dream up these marketing pieces. fucking hate it... pageants too. little girls acting like woman, getting points/scores from men and women.
