  • I have a loader but not the chest, is there a place to attach the loader to the chest to keep it secure while loading? if not what did they do? Thanks

  • @cdtx906 Good question. I have seen on older chest mounting holes to attach the loader to the top of the box, this one does not have those. I guess since the loading was tasked at the Depot level in the rear they used a table.

  • Do you think this loader would work with 7.62x54r if a modification was made to compensate for the extra Rim? I own a 1919 with a 54r conversion and apparently it only likes cloth belts unlike everyone else 54r Browning so im stuck with cloth belts instead of links. Its insanely hard to load that thing by hand for some reason. Is there any other machine or device that could help me out you think, or atleast an easier way to load them without a machine? Thanks

  • @Zerothomas In my opinion it would take an awful lot of rework to modify the Browning belt loader, your better option would be to find a aftermarket cloth belt loader for the Browning 1919. There are some listed for sale on several gun forumns but you will need to look. The prices are alot lower also. Good luck.

  • Very nice vid. i never knew that a browning used a cloth belt 5*****.

I also have a question. Do you have to have a mg42 belt loader to loead an mg belt?

  • Thanks. Yes, we have a loader for the MG34 & MG42 in 8mm.

  • When the Zombie apocalypse comes...Iam going to his house!

  • thanks

nice i never know how the are doing that! now i know

  • its amazing the 50 cal is still in use after round 91 years.... jeeze

  • @karlos707 .30/06 is a bit faster, with a heavy bullet (174 grain used in WWI) could shoot out to 6000 yards. Lighter bullet used in wwii didn't have quite the range, but had less recoil. .303 had rimmed cartridge, which is cheaper to accurately machine chamber of rifle or MG for correct headspace, but subject to a rim over rim failure mode), but gives very positive extraction. Both were very good. .30/06 is nearly the same ballistics as modern 7.62x54R Russian, which also has rimmed cartridge
