Bob Schmidt shows you when using a table saw, mitre saw or a power saw, the blade rotation pretty much dictates the best way to run your material through. To get the cleanest cut possible.

  • I think that I disagree about the circular saw. Because you are pushing the saw forward, the blade makes contact with the top layer first and then exits through the bottom, so you want the finished side up.

  • @sonicseaweed You may want to re-think this one+++Bob

  • @sonicseaweed , you havent used a circular saw then. I cut large pieces of finished panels for kitchen plus countertops. Finished side ALWAYS down. Give it a try, you'll find out for yourself. Good Luck.

  • @rockycon1967 Your first comment is finished side UP> Your second comment is finished side always Down> Your second comment is what I said in the video. Hmmmm +++Bob

    Haven't used a circular saw much I take it...

  • good tip- Bob, I have a small table saw like that one any tips for making it more permanent ? IE: larger table and a better fence the fence on this one sucks

  • i've been gathering a few of your tips. Thank you.

  • And maybe mention the stunning improvement in cut quality that a good blade will make; even on a cheaper saw. Put a good 80 tooth carbide tipped blade on a cheap benchtop table saw, and be amazed at the crosscuts that will result; both on the top AND bottom of the piece you're sawing. But use a cheap-o blade on the best saw ever, and you still won't get good results.
