Elephant Gear was kinda weird to me. It was like a combination of a Shadow Dancer with a core warship.

Elephant Gear was probably most scariest mechanical boss i have seen in gradius games, he just scared shit out of with his tight design but also the music kept me on caution... it was that EPIC

oh yeah!!!! the bigcore theme, an all gradius classic bgm
then it comes the theme of bigcore mkIII, it makes feels some fear sensation, and also is very great
the elephant gear theme starts with a like contra sound, in this one it makes feel the danger, and the so close you are to get your objective done .
Hitosi Sakamoto have done a great soundtrack for gradius v
