Helena 'Starz' Richards from Hull in East Yorkshire has been singing for as long as she can remember. At the age of just seven she had her first taste of TV fame when she was featured singing on Pop Stars the Rivals TV Extra, since then she has pursued an ambition to continue to sing and perform whenever she can.
Helena has always been happy to sing at charity events both locally and nationally this has lead to her having helped charities to raise thousands of pounds over the years. Having already performed as a soloist singer at fantastic venues like the Hull City Hall, Hull New Theatre, Leeds Variety Theatre, Blackpool's North Pier, Liverpool Echo Arena and other stages, none could compare to the magnitude of the O2 arena in 2010 & 2011 which she performed as a featured soloist in front of audiences of over 18,000. In February 2012 Helena was able to fulfil a further dream (and possibly many other singers dream) when she had the opportunity to sing as a featured soloist at Wembley Arena!
She has always enjoyed participating in local and national competitions and has achieved great success in the likes of 'Live & Unsigned', 'Britain Does Variety', 'Festival 4 Stars', and many others. One of the best prizes Helena has won to date was the local radio & Disney "My Camp Rock" competition, it was an all expenses paid trip to London staying in a top hotel; watching We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre, getting to record at a top London recording studio, she also appeared on the Disney Chanel advertisement of the TV version of the competition.
Helena has always been keen to continue with her acting, dancing and musical theatre side and has been trained at two of Hull's leading theatre schools, Northern Theatre and N.A.P.A.; this has lead to her having the main roles in several productions, opportunities to audition for TV and Film roles through a London Agency, star in local student films and successfully pass many Trinity Guildhall & LAMDA exams. She has also attended several independent vocal coaches and dance teachers, and taken IDTA dance exams up to Gold Level standard and LCM musical theatre exams, passing grade 8 with distinction.
Until recently Helena was part of a managed trio girl band called 'Finesse', whom had just secured a record deal when one of the members decided to leave the group, they had been together for two years so initially it was a shock but following this minor set-back, having already performed together as a successful duo in the absence of the third member Helena and Jess decided to continue as a duet and renamed themselves 'Sweet Vengeance'. .
