Ok here is another video of the Krank. This one is different from the others because of two things.

Firstly, I installed a Dimarzio X2N in the bridge of my Dime o Flame ML. This pickup replaced the stock Dimebucker which in my opinion sucked pretty bad.

Secondly, the sound has been EQ'd using an MXR 10 band graphic equalizer. The EQ is set infront of the amp with my guitar going straight into it and the EQ into the amp face. Not in the effects loop.

  • Nice amp! Do you like that MXR 10 band EQ? Is it better in front of the amp or in the FX loop? Thanks!

  • I love the MXR. It helps clear up some of the mud from the amp. I think I could make it sound better than I had it but I lack a speaker cab at this point.

  • Forgot to address the FX loop thing ha. I tried it both in front directly between the guitar and amp and through the loop and didn't really see a big difference.

  • You do the metal sound justice on this amp. Not like Paul for guitar world. I hate it when they demo an amp and try to show the metal capabilities of the amp and just end up playing some hi-gain rock. Learn the art of the chunk Paul!!! Good job!!!!

  • Haha, thanks bro. This amp is capable of some insane crunch when the right tools are used.

  • @killmypain666 i know how you feel. they take an amp built for metal and play fuckin blues. nobody is gonna buy this amp for anything other than metal.

  • @scrappy What cabinet & speakers are you going through with this video? Sounds really good and has tight low end punch. Also, how does this amp sound at really low volume level (like late night in an apartment level)?

  • 20 watts enoguh to get over a drummer?

  • is this the 20 or 50 watts version? is it loud enough to rehearsal with the band?

  • @hotrod9983 it is now :)

  • is this a good amp? i need a small tube amp tats loud but not too loud. i found a deal on a krank rev jr pro 20W with a cab for 799 and all i really play is metal. is the fx loop good? i have distortion pedals so if i dont like the distortion i can use them in the loop, but uh i need to kno if the amp is good an the loop... so is tat a good deal?

  • i was thinking about getting this as a practice/ recording amp to replace my blackstar ht-5/ however i tihnk i am gonna go with the egnater rebel 20, i play some metal mostly alt rock, like sum41 and stuff. i like this amp very much but i believe it lacks versatility, its kinda one trick pony, not unlike my dual rec. kinda reminds me of it. what do you think

  • I am looking at these. Would the 20W be enough for small clubs etc? do I need the 50W

  • Dude is it the 20 or 50 watt? Sounds MEAN! I kinda've want 2 invest int he 20 watt so I can have a good practice amp. I wouldn't need the 50 cuz I think it would be 2 much 4 bedroom practicing.

  • Thanks very much, I'm gonna buy this thing tomorrow.
