  • when cars were cars driven by drivers, not by traction control assisted poo poo e.c.u 's, control units , self levelling, pure power and skilled drivers. if you were no good you would lose control, these days anybody can drive the modern cars.

  • @georgegleek Nowadays cars are maybe easier to drive in general, but I don't think they are any easier to drive on the limit, to explore that last tenth of their capabilities. These 80s cars were moving around all the time and driver could sense the traction levels more clearly. Modern rally car on modern rubber just grips and grips, but when it finally runs out of adhesion, it happens much more quickly and in much greater speed.
