I just hope people dont judge all christians by these peoples standards, i believe in god, but believe in evolution and accepting of gay people, (my cousin is gay). It is the same as every group, you always get your idiots

My best friend in the world, and most of my family are Christians. I don't have a problem with people of faith, but unfortunately too often there are nuts like these in positions of leadership that push their views on public policy. That's what I have a problem with.

I've been "debating" fundies on different forums and chat rooms. So far I haven't been able to make any headway with any of them.

I recommeded Neil Shubins book My Inner Fish and Jerry Coynes book Why Evolution is True and they just won't read it. One creationist told me he had studied evolution a lot longer and more thourougly than I had and he still didn't believe it. I don't have a clue how he knows how long I've studied evolution so I just ignored him cuz he's an asshole.

Yep. I had one tell me that he studied evolution for 40 years and found it to be false, and that he was right because he studied it longer than I was alive so he would know better.

But when he tried to explain things, I was able to point out that he didn't even understand basic biological taxonomy. He didn't know the difference between a species, and order, or a phylum.
