@Mazeppa6: Rogier indicates that the music score was not to be sentimental but still needed some degree of tragedy.
The theme is heroic, with copper horns and all. The meaning of the music has to do with side effects, hunting, marching soldiers, clinging on to total elusiveness; that's heroism and sadness. It reveals what's in the action, yet is not said. The part he likes most is the score that accompanies the killing of Robbie (you hear the music from the album).
