I started orthodontic treatment 81 weeks ago and will be having double jaw surgery at some stage, hopefully within the next 12 months. Have had 2 extractions to help create an 8-10mm underbite prior to surgery, now just waiting.....and waiting.....and waiting for gaps to close.

  • omg i remember your vlogs from last year , i thought you would have had surgery by now.

  • @kanedawong I know, right??!! I cleared my summer and everything! At this rate it'll be NEXT summer :((((

  • Why did you choose metal braces? I thought there were clearer braces which are less visible. Or is there some technical reason why you can't have them?

On another note, your profile reads that you are 39, but you look like you are in your mid 20s! I wonder if the braces have something to do with that.

  • @noshabkeming Awww bless you!

Because I am having all my ortho / surgery done on the NHS (i.e. free) I didn't have the choice of anything other than metal, unfortunately, although I can change the colour of my ligs (currently have metallic dark pink)

I was also told that metal braces were slightly better, less prone to stains etc.

Do you think I'll look pre-pubescent when I'm finished??? hahaha :D

  • What you're good with braces.

  • congratulations fantastic braces very very nice.

  • @montope I have love, I just want jaw-discomfort-free love....

  • @noshabkeming Was originally told 18m pre surgery and 6m post, extractions added 6m pre (approx) so that would mean 24m pre and 6m post. It's been 19m so far (and counting...)

My braces are a big hit with my daughter's Brownie pack (where I help occasionally) They had to decorate 'cress heads' and they all drew them with braces!

At least 9yr olds think I'm cool.... :)

  • @Witchypoo777 You are right metal braces have in general a much cleaner look. How long will you have to wear them in total?

Haha, I don't think braces are such a time machine. But if they end up putting you "accessories" in your braces such as the rubber bands teenagers have, who knows :D

  • Hello, finally, after a long time, you made new video braces. I hope now we will do another one very soon. Thank you, congratulations.
