Song from Time & A Word, released in June of 1970. This is the promo which aired during a European (isn't it always?) TV show. I've taken out the old muddled audio and replaced it with Dolby digital
this is one of the many rare videos on the new 70s Yes 2DVD set.

Yes - A Celebration, 1969 - 1979 2-DVD set
Tommygun Studios does it again!!

This UNBELIEVABLE 2-DVD set is a prog fans YES wet dream!
No interviews, no 80s stuff, just Yes Tommygun Studios does it again!!

This UNBELIEVABL2-DVD set is a prog fans YES wet dream!
No interviews, no 80s stuff, just Yes at the height of their creativity and popularity in the 70s.
You only want 1970s Yes, Tommygun knows that, now you've got it!

Unbelievably, 2 Yes videos were released in the 70s w/ horrible audio. Yessongs has bad audio & Live in Philadelphia 1979 is unlistenable.

The feature presentation of this 2DVD set is the complete Live at Queens Park Rangers Stadium show recorded May 10, 1975 taken from a rare Japanese laser disc. Unbelievable video quality with the best audio of this show available to date. In our opinion this is the best audio of any Yes show ever filmed.

  • I don't think Steve actually plays on this cut for this album. Peter Banks was the guitarist then. This video must've been made just after he split. Love Bill's drums here.

  • you are right

  • From what I've read, Kaye was a very traditional organ player and didn't really want to go in the direction of synthesizers the band wanted to.

  • Killer vintage Yes.I wonder if they knew then that they would become the greatest rock band in history?

  • Looks like this was filmed at the end of a waterbreak (brise-lame in French and golfbreker in Dutch), typical of the Belgian coast along the North Sea.

Hmmm ... those were the days, both in musical terms and location; when Belgium and its people better invested their resources and inspiration. Great quality recording. Thanks much for sharing.

  • @grayngreen 0:20 Steve Howe doesn't play the bass either, I think that's Scotty in sick bay and I suppose Dr. McCoy is in engineering now.

  • @Bluesmen88 You are correct, part of the reason Kaye left was the rest of the band wanted him to use synthesizers on Fragile (especially Heart of the Sunrise), and he was loyal to his Hammond organ, so Rick Wakeman came in and re-recorded some of Kaye's parts, (especially Heart of The Sunrise).

  • "Chris Squire........ not really playing the keyboard...... not even plugged in......... no electricity for the Squirenator"

  • ...yes!

  • Steve didn't seem to be having much fun in the cold wind.

  • It looks like they're having a little fun with the producer, who probably doesn't even know which of these kids really plays which instrument. Squire and Kaye's "acting" isn't even all that convincing.

  • wow! bill bruford looks like a kid!
