Reimu Hakurei (if you don't know who she is you have never played or heard of Touhou) is one of the two possible Stage 4 bosses of the game Imperishable Night, the 8th installment of the Touhou Project. The Touhou project is a series of vertical shooters known as danmaku, which means "bullet hell". That's an understatement. It was created by Team Shanghai and is currently being managed by him, since Team Shanghai is a one man team. ZUN's the man.

The quote above is said by Reimu in the fangame Concealed the Conclusion and its tone provides the picture I have of Reimu in my head. I'll put it this way: every character has like a neutral facial expression. In my head, Marisa neutral expression is a wide, mischievous yet friendly grin. Youmu normally has a dead serious almost frowning and "I'm very loyal" face on her. Yukari is always relax and easy going with a subtle smile and half-sleep eyes. Sakuya's is a very calm expression showing she has a lot of patience (even if she doesn't). Remilia also has a mischievous grin, but unlike Marisa, her grin is... evil, like she's planning how to outsmart you constantly.

So why that paragraph? Because what I find more remarkable about the picture of Reimu I have in my head is not what she does or who she is, is her facial expression. Sure, like every other human being, she laughs, cries, sulk when there isn't any donation, but normally her expression is... hard to explain. I guess the best words to describe it are apathy bordering disdain. Her face is one that doesn't easily show expression and she looks at most people with an air of superiority, even if it isn't on purpose. An expression that transmits the message of "I don't care what happens to you, but you're annoying, go away." or something.... but an image says more than a thousand words, so after looking through all my doujin collection for a good image to show, I found *looks*... none. The closest it gets is Tohonifun on "Yukari vs Yuka" but even that is more annoyed than apathy with disdain. And his art style doesn't help. Is not bad, but it doesn't help make a case. I guess this description of Perfect Memento is what I have in mind, but taken to the extreme:

"She treats everyone in the same uninterested manner, neither gentle nor stern." Perfect Memento

What else? Well, Reimu doesn't practice and is talented at what she does, as if some divine spirit is giving her strength (no far-fetched as it sounds.) She's just that good. I'll speak more of her when I tackle her Last Word.

Also, I took some liberty with the music since there's a specific game in the series I'm not going to tackle ever (or at least very unlikely) and I wanted to use a song from that game. Sue me.

Sure Marisa has more blinding attacks but Reimu is just has attacks that r harder to avoid.
