you mean the drudges that abuse the system such as, people have multiple kids, or good jobs with there bmws still collecting it and stamps. i'm on ssi, because of my back and leg. i had a phone. a prevail but it along with most of my stuff was stolen. so i will use a cheapo phone till i can put money back for one. the real issue are the killers, thiefs and layabouts in good health.

i just have to say. i have been unemployed since january after working my whole life. and i can't find a new job without a call back number. i don't have any income what so ever. so safelink provides me with the ability to have employers call me back. i understand people's problem with others taking advantage of the welfare system and all, but i don't have welfare. i just can't find another job. so this was seriously offensive to me. its completely ignorant. oh btw. texts costs minutes. not free

oh by the way low income does not mean being on welfare , would you be surprised to know your income is low enough to get one and it is a very basic phone with 250 min a month you do need to prove your income , you can also work and be low income and get food stamps help with you elec bill it is based on how much money you make whether at a job or welfare, but rem welfare is now a 5 yr program in your life time thanks to clintion in the 90's w welfare reform

@daysvilleman so ok listen the phones are given based on low income. that doesnt mean only welfare non working, many millions of people are low income and work every day , did you know if you work a min wage job 80 hours a week you are low income. the firgures are based on the national averages from the census buerea. and did you know that welfare is no longer a life time program, it is a 5 years in your life time program and it is a job program which was fixed by president clintion

I Love this video. I can remember not always having a cell phone and I functioned fine. Cell phones are no where near a necessity. Free texting? Who the heck sends a text message for a potential job opportunity? "I C job opp n papr 2day, CU @ 5 for Intrview" That's real professional. These phones are to assist those fallen on hard times to get back on their feet, right? I'm still trying to figure out how it does. The fact is that this service will be abused like any other entitlement. Thanks

I have worked since I was a child and I get welfare still working. Maybe if someone would let me get my foot in the door with my degree I wouldn't need welfare. See ignorant people like you think all people on welfare don't work. Oh by the way I pay my own bills and don't and never have depended on anyone else.
