  • Hasn't everyone entertained this particular fantasy at one time or another? I know I have....

  • I'm really looking forward to watching this series! Americans tend to forget that we have something that most Europeans don't -- true wilderness practically right outside our back door. Too bad so many of us never take the opportunity to experience, but at least Mr. Pope has put his finger on the value of at least _knowing_ that you could wander off into the forest primeval if you were crazy enough to do so. Kind of a "Dances with Wolves" fantasy, I guess. Or maybe "Into the Wild"?

  • haha if you hadnt turned back you would have died!!! lol i was watching this video with my dad (we bought the dvd) and my dad thought this man was mindless and stupid ahahaha best part of the film

  • Dude see! That's exactly why I didn't like this program! Instead of showing landscape and wildlife, it showed people talking! I'm gonna make my own and I'm gonna have one park in each episode, and each episode is gonna be like an hour long! And no people!

  • Not at all.

  • I am not commenting on the merit of the park system, it is a fantastic idea. But American ideas are much more lofty than just this, I find that unalienable human rights granted by the creator is a much more profound, and could easily constitute the best national idea we've had. It is just a little offensive to proclaim the BEST IDEA of America to be creating parks, I find that a bit offensive to the ideals of America. It really devalues the vision of America.

  • No. Can't we be proud of something we actually invented before others?

  • The stupid man would have died of starvation or cold if he had not turned back. Idiot.

  • No. It's not offensive. At all.
