Occurs to me how flattering is the lighting. He's bathed in an almost surrealistic golden glow, which makes him radiate so. Suits well the artistic brilliance and truly golden qualities...Still so young in his encroaching "golden years" (he likes David Bowie, too.) ;) Plus, performing partner Dave Nachmanoff always makes him shine even more w/ his own surefire brilliance!

Time may have aged him as it does us all, but the voive and the music is timeless. Thanks Al, alway loved your music and poetic lyrics. Many thanks to for the post.

@sandinyourshoes Yes, that and much more besides. And all of it absolutely sublime. Never the simplest, most accessible, common formula, either.
-
@cherimelodie, Al brings the magic of other times to our tables.

@sandinyourshoes To be around him (e.g., post-show greetings) is to be in presence of someone truly radiant and majestic...Intimidating (at least for me) in a way, yet there is true kindness wrapped up in much incredible, mercurial energy...But I honestly don't have any real clue, truly, about "a way" w/ ladies, per se. So there ya go, best I can do for ya, you sly one! :)
-
@cherimelodie, I bet he does have a way with the ladies.

Thanks, hallmork --- Al's voice is *unchanged* after all these years (which is really "supernatural", when you think about it), and Nachmanoff gets off a really nice "unplugged" rendition of Renwick's original guitar solo at the end! :-)
