In this series of lecture segments, if one has the patience and the time - and reads Machiavelli's text along with Bloom here - one will learn what it means to read a genuine masterpiece of political philosophy. The better one comes to know Machiavelli's text, the more use one will be able to make of Bloom's observations and thoughts.
There is no useless academic scholarship here, no boring or moribund didacticism. Above all, no frivolously vain scholarly erudition: only Bloom and Machiavelli - a meeting of men. This series of lectures is simply unmatched. There is nothing more to say about it, until one has returned to it several times.
(The total length is almost 4 hours long, or about 20 segments. These will be added gradually as time permits)
