I tried this a couple of days ago instead of french curls & dips & it totally hit the spot! im still a bit sore, does this exercise target a different area of the triceps in comparison to say..... tricep dips?

I do these sometimes but i call em skullcrushers

i think if u feel a risk of injury you should not increase weight.
this is a good vid but i found out very soon that its very hard to do- my elbows are running in all directions. only way i can do this is with a very close grip on the ez bar.

wow, very good instructions and perfect form.
I was looking for someone who could do it correctly on here. thank you very much. I was looking for something to replace my overhead french curls, I am going heaveyer and dont want to risk injuring my shoulder area. again thanks ^^

If this method of exercising triceps is "wrong", I will remove this video immediately. Is there a physical therapist or orthopedic surgeon out there who can shed some light on this or provide some references? Personally I have been using this for two decades with good results and no injuries, am I missing something????

What a silly retort, obviously from a friend of his. Pick up this month's Muscle & Fitness it says same thing, genius.

IMHO "Muscle & Fitness" magazine rates only slightly above the National Enquirer in their scientific credentials and responsible journalism. Again, I am interested in learning here. Are there any scientific studies or research that documents that your way is "correct" and my way is "wrong"?

To repeat, he's got it wrong. Also in regards to doing them slowly. Also completely wrong to stress this elbow positioning business or having to keep them still-do this exercise right, to behind the head and you'll see the difference.

What do you mean by "wrong". Do you mean that this method of doing the exercise is ineffective or do you mean that it is dangerous? If the former, I'm not too worried as I have 19" arms and my triceps development is proportional to the rest of by physique. If it is the latter, it is possible I have just been lucky but I've been doing this for over two decades without injury. Please explain.
