I'm Congressman John Boehner.

This is a time of great challenge for many in our country. Republicans believe in the American people and throughout the past year, on issues ranging from health care to jobs, weve offered common-sense solutions aimed at getting government off Americans backs and unleashing the greatness of our people.

Last week in his State of the Union, President Obama challenged critics of his trillion-dollar government takeover of health care to show him a better plan. I raised my hand.

Because the fact is, Republicans have offered common-sense solutions to give Americans the health care reform they want. In fact, weve offered the only health care plan that will lower premiums by up to 10 percent.

Whether the topic has been on health care, the budget, energy or putting Americans back to work, Republicans have stuck with our principles, listened to the people, and offered better solutions to the challenges families and small businesses are facing every day.

We presented President Obama with this book of our better solutions last Friday in a meeting with House Republicans, and we want to share it with you, too. Please visit Solutions.gop.gov and see a copy of our Better Solutions for yourself. Thanks for listening.

  • Sweden got healthcare for everyone and we are pretty wealthy because of that, it has not done us to communist or a super social country. But i do understand the feeling when your money flew away which are suppose to be payed for food or your house. I guess it's wrong time to make healthcare for everyone in U.S.A right now because of the financial crises. I hope you get what i meant.

  • Show me a republican and I'll show you a WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF BIG BUSINESS. The Republican Party is a Joke.. Sadly, a long long time ago you were a viable group with the people's best interest at heart. Today, you are the party for the rich. Today, you are a joke and an insult.

  • Now that the bill has passed, and the dems are faring far better than the republicans over this, I wonder just how boehner is feeling just about now? Hope the good people in the 8th district of Ohio will find a much better person to represent them next time around!! I know many republicans must now truly be worried about the next elections.

YES WE CAN, boehner & the rest of the "no" saying republicans, vote your sorry ***** out of office! Can't wait!

Yes, we can & YES, we did!!!!

  • If Obama and the the far left and radical Obama Democrats ram it through, they'll all also be ramming themselves out of office when Americans vote, as has already been proven to be true in Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and the list is getting longer...

  • I'm afraid you are right there. They are sending out questionaires that only suggest part of the proposals they know people do agree with, then say, "See people agree with out proposals so as to make people think they don' t understand the issues. Their half truths scams are uncovered though. We read the bills, we read even Obama's proposal Pdf the WH put out. I don't agree with them. Period. I've been too long in the healthcare institution to fall for that.

    They will ram it through.

  • The 27-page booklet includes proposals on health care as well as other issues Republicans consider vital to America's continued prosperity: jobs, fiscal responsibility, open government and transparency, energy, savings, national security and fiscal reform...

  • 2/24/10: Weeks ahead of Thursday's "bipartisan" meeting on health care reform, House Republicans offered their ideas to Obama in a booklet presented to the president during his visit to the Republican Party retreat in Baltimore on January 29...

  • "The Republican bill would codify the Hyde Amendment and prohibit all authorized and appropriated federal funds from being used to pay for abortion, which the President's proposal would allow. Pro-life Democrats in the House have already pledged to vote against this provision," said Boehner. "Health care reform should be an opportunity to protect human life--not end it--and the American people agree."

  • He also said pro-life legislators are committed to creating legislation that reflects what Americans want in health care reform. "Republicans are also standing with the American people by calling for health care reform to protect human life and not use taxpayer money to fund abortion," Boehner said in a statement...

  • House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said the release of Obama's health care proposal ahead of Thursday's televised discussion among the president, Democrats, and select Republicans could be counterproductive...
