From KETC, Living St. Louis Producer Ruth Ezell interviews jazz broadcaster, Leo Chears about his successful career in radio. Known to listeners as "The Man in the Red Vest," Chears spent more than 40 years on air, with the last 16 at WSIE-FM. Severe arthritis, along with other health complications forced him to broadcast from home before passing away in 2006.
Here I am once again. Just wanting to hear a little Leo. I have lost most of my cassettes I had of Leo's wonderful shows. Can someone out there tell me how I can listen to some of his shows? I would greatly appreciate it.

I love this guy. Leo was the best jazz dj I ever heard. I would break my neck(almost)to hear his show on Sundays. It would just be me and him and the music. He introduced me to so so much music. A lot of which I have searched for and at times would find. Back in those days I did'nt know what a cd was. Had it not been for my cassettes, I don't how I would have been able to still listen to him once he was off the air. I wish there was a way I could hear some of his old shows. Good lookin out.
