It always amazes me how different this style of belly dance is from tribal fusion. It's hard to believe tribal fusion derived from this. (I don't mean it in a bad way, it's just the way everything is executed is so different.)

How much are we supposed to bend our knees??

Enough to keep the knees unlocked but not so much that there is too much stress on your quads and knees.

my hips cant do that popping thing and my shimmy looks scary...hmm

Try doing this shimmy on one leg... put all your weight on your left leg, lift and drop the right hip, repeat for 16 counts then repeat on the right leg. This will help your hips become familiar with the move and create some muscle memory. Let me know your progress! Have fun!
