both versions are weak as their are no rattlesnakes in the "old world"(Eurasia & Africa). also, the best way to immobilize a snake is to cut it in half or BURN IT IN HALF. All that molten rock in the second film and they didn't weaponize it in giant pots? In the first film all they needed was to lure medusa and crush the serpent with a "Scottish Maiden/Gibbet" like chopping device.

The original will always be the best IMO. No comparison!

the biggest difference being the new one is totally hot if i could find a way to counter the curse and out match her in physical strength i'd be trying to court her not kill her if i were in his place :)

No one will ever beat Ray Harryhausen's classic Medusa! The new one is a cheap imitation in cgi cornyness! Why does the new medusa go from pretty to ugly? Makes no sense whatsoever! Thumbs down on the new stupid version!

nice edit!

Yeah in terms of scariness 1981 has the edge. But in terms of action 2010 definitely won

Medusa of 1981 movie is more scary, more unhuman

New Medusa Sounds Like A Teenager

i like more the the first one explenacions are not needed

the medusa in the new one was kinda hot, actually she was ridiculously fucking hot and i've never been so spazzy by a snake in my entire life.
Compare with the new Medusa, the old Medusa is much uglier and scarier and that's what legend said and the old movie has the better story than the new one. Special effect is great, but it does not show the true legendary Medusa.

@ashybline Except that the July Garland Wizard of Oz was a remake, the maltese falcon was a remake, ben hurr..etc. But modern cinema has a tendency to ruin the old stories.
