For Black Tie & Tails, in the spirit of the revolutionary 20th century design school known as the Bauhaus, some of Michigan's top architects are donating their time, energy, and talents to designing and building innovative "summer homes" that will satisfy even the most finicky of four-legged friends.

These one-of-a-kind dog domiciles, known as "BauWauHauses," will be produced in a very limited number, and will only be available for purchase on Friday, October 20, at the sixth annual Black Tie & Tails, the gala event hosted by the Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter. All proceeds from this unique auction will benefit the animals who seek safe haven at the Dearborn Animal Shelter each year until they find permanent homes of their own

Lawrence Tech is a private, accredited university that offers over 60 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs in Colleges of Architecture and Design, Arts and Sciences, Engineering, and Management
