Tell Me a Story: Send in the Clowns

It's not what you would expect to see in the Dialysis Unit at Cincinnati Children's: Kids in patient beds doing circus tricks. They're spinning plates, balancing peacock feathers — and laughing. Motivational clown Paul Miller, founder of Circus Mojo, has come up with a program called Mojo Medicine to give hospitalized kids a fun outlet. Miller has a grant to study the mental, physical and emotional effects his performances have on patients. And if the sound of laughter is any indication, this kind of medicine is working pretty well. Clowns were invented to relax the audience between the spine tingling events of the Show. You are exactly right you are relaxing a tense atmosphere.
