If people can legally get married by traveling to another state, but chose not. Then in my view, they probably do not want to get married.

Silveracity, I disagree. There are couples who may not be able to afford to travel to another state, and there are other couples who wish to wait to marry in their own state out of pride or out of the principal that it's wrong for a state to deny a couple the fundamental civil right to marry. I am curious to hear what straight couples would say if they had to travel to different state to get married.

Yes, it seems wrong to me to deny any couple the right to marriage. But we must live our lives in this world today, and not in the world as it may be tomorrow.

Everyone couple has to decide what is more important, their pride and principals or their love and marriage.

Silveracity, I think we may disagree on this subject, and I am fine to agree to disagree. I don't think principal is something that I would ever wish to compromise over practicality, as principal carries far more substance and is how we define ourselves and things, and I see it as a matter of not either marriage or principals but marriage based on principals.
